  • Jenny is Senior Partner, Head of International Practice, Shanghai Hiways Law Firm, Zhengzhou office, Deputy Head of Hiways International Practice Committee and is the China Chief Representative of the Australian firm Logie-Smith Lanyon Lawyers.

    Jenny used to work in CCPIT Henan, focusing on foreign exchange and communication, and foreign legal business. Jenny also worked at Lovells Beijing office and DLA Piper Beijing office, practising FDI and venture capital business. Jenny has travelled to USA, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand for study tour and work practice at local law firms during practice.

    Jenny has been focusing on trade law, foreign investment law (including FDI and ODI), corporate law, cross border business and employment law. Jenny is an experienced international lawyer, fluent in English and Mandarin.

    Jenny is admitted to Ministry of Justice International Lawyers List, ACLA International Leading Talents and Henan Free Trade Zone Legal Experts.

Representative Cases

  • As their Chief Representative in China, Jenny often works with Logie-Smith Lanyon colleagues on Sino-Australian and international transactions and provide legal advice. Jenny also often helps to prepare and translate precedents, contracts, project proposals and legal notes from English to Chinese or vice versa for her Australian firm. She has been involved in explaining Australian property and construction contracts to Chinese clients and working with real estate agents in Shanghai, Beijing, Qingdao, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Zhengzhou.
  • Legal advice for a JV project in Cambodian on joint venture agreement, articles of association.
  • Due diligence, legal documents preparation and drafting for an agriculture cooperation project with Florida University and a Henan enterprise.
  • Representing an enterprise, travelled to Kenya, Nigeria and Cameroon for overseas investment investigation, due diligence and subsidiary company establishment.
  • Provide legal service for a major Henan state-owned company’s investment project in Mozambique.
  • Legal advice for a private enterprise on a gold mine de-capital project in North Africa.
  • Working closely with LSL team, review Deed Option and other legal documents for a coal mine JV project of Kun Qian, an Australian affiliate of Henan Energy Group, a Fortune 500 company and prepare a bilingual legal opinion.
  • Structure and legal advice for a patent transfer and facility purchase project between a Henan company and a Russian one.
  • Advise and prepare a set of distribution bilingual contracts for HWB, an Australian Brisbane Builder and its China agents with LSL team.
  • Structure, advice and legal documents for a JV project in Melbourne between Urban Jazz Holdings Pty Ltd and Zhejiang Dachong with LSL team.
  • Negotiation, on-site due diligence, legal documents preparation and legal advice for Australia Medal Field on its machine purchase and landfill project cooperation in Henan.
  • Working closely with LSL litigation team and a QC in Sydney, act for the famous Shaolin Temple on two litigation cases in the NSW Supreme Court. Jenny was involved from the very beginning and attended trials in the NSW court, helped with strategy, correspondence exchange and communication, assisted preparing affidavits for the abbot with the LSL team in Shaolin Temple, Henan China. The two cases were both won.
  • Working with LSL team, conduct due diligence, structure design and provide legal advice for Beijing International Mining Company to take over Mines Online, a mining project online platform based in Perth. Traveled with the company executive to Melbourne, Sydney and Perth to attend and translate for every meeting with lawyers, the potential cooperate partner, Australian Pacifica Exchange and the target company.
  • Draft documents and witness for a China family immigration matter in UK.
  • Legal advice for a cooperation project between an ISSA an Australian vocational training center and a Kunming Education Group.
  • Legal advice and preliminary due diligence for purchasing a wind farm in New Zealand with LSL team.
  • Negotiation, JV documents review for Zart Pty Ltd on its JV company in Shanghai and advice on share transfer.
  • Provide legal service for Mitsubishi CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) project in Henan,
  • Advise on commercial collection for Caterpillar (China) Financing, employment issues for a Joint Venture in Henan of Burgess Norton Manufacturing, USA, and EPC project for a Sino-Korea JV Power Plant in Henan.
